About me
Hi, I’m Krystle — a mama of four, an ultrasound tech in high-risk OB, and the heart behind TheHearthWay.
I live in California’s Central Valley where life moves fast, but my heart has always longed for something slower, simpler, and more rooted. In my day job at Kaiser Permanente, I support women and families during some of their most vulnerable moments. It’s meaningful work — but it also reminds me every day how precious home, health, and presence truly are.
My love for simple living began in an unexpected place: my backyard chicken coop. What started as a small way to give my family better food slowly became a deeper calling. Caring for animals, gathering eggs, cooking from scratch, and tending to the rhythms of home brought me back to myself. In a noisy, chaotic world, those quiet moments — stirring a pot of soup, watching my kids laugh in the living room, feeding my animals at dusk — became my grounding.
I’m a mother to four incredible kids — three daughters and a son — and they are the reason I choose this slower way of living. My dream is to one day leave California, settle into a smaller home on a little piece of land, and build a life where we grow our food, raise animals, and spend more time together than we do rushing from one obligation to the next.
I love writing, hiking, nature, and the gentle beauty of a simple life. One day, I hope to write a book that tells this story — of choosing home over hustle, roots over rush, and nourishment in every sense of the word.
TheHearthWay is where I share that journey — recipes, stories, and a way of living that feeds both home and heart.
